The biggest breakdown complaint with almost all inkjet printers is “clogged printer heads and nozzles” due to insufficient use. Ink dries inside the printer head and nozzles because you print infrequently.
The other common cause is the use of generic or compatible but poor quality ink. Good grade generics with world-class quality certification like ISO 9001, can be easily obtained at affordable prices and will do just as well for regular use. Low end versions of generic ink are made inferior to keep the cost down without thought to quality. Only buy superior generics from reliable and long-established vendors who offer them at highly competitive prices. You needn't worry about quality with original inks, whatsoever. They are made specifically for print profiles designed for your printer from the inception of that model by the manufacturer. Naturally, they are the best for your printer, if you don't mind the high cost. Being cautious will give you trouble-free service for a few years to come. Not all generics are created equal!
No. Printer Guard PREVENTS clogged heads and nozzles from happening in the first place. So, if you already have clogged heads and nozzles, you would have to manually clear/clean/flush your heads and nozzles first, before running Printer Guard. There are many tutorials and videos on the Internet showing how easy it is to do this with step-by-step instructions, depending on your make and model. However, please note that not all models can be user-cleaned and may require OEM technicians to do it. If you decide to use generics or even rotate with OEM ink, it would be a good idea to scour the generic ink vendor websites to see their recommended models, etc. Old or long dried ink heads and nozzles may be difficult to clear and may take several attempts to clean. In our experience, most dried heads and nozzles can be salvaged. It may depend on the techniques and solutions used or the number of attempts taken to clear/clean them.
You NEED NOT use expensive original OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer or branded) ink for day-to-day printing. That’s just a colossal waste of hard-earned money! Just as you use recycled paper for non-critical daily printing in fast/draft mode, you can and should use generics to save money and to reduce the disposal of multitudes of OEM cartridges which have extremely low volumes of ink. You should do your utmost to "Save Mother Earth" by limiting plastic trash!
Unless you’re printing high-quality photos or offering presentations, lectures, etc., there is really NO NEED to use OEM ink. If you really have to use OEM ink, rotate your OEM cartridges with generic ones to maximize cost-effectiveness.

If good generics are used with frequent printing, printers will last a reasonably long time with almost no major maintenance required.

If you use generics, never leave the printer unused for long periods of time. In fact, the same rule applies even if you’re using OEM ink.
Our Printer Guard software prints out test images at preset intervals to keep the ink running through the printer head with nozzles finer than a strand of your hair (about 1/3 of its size). That design alone is a precursor for head and nozzle clogging if you print infrequently!
The ink in the print head and nozzles simply won’t get the chance to dry up unless you don’t follow our recommendations. All you need to do is NOT shutdown your computer and printer. Printer Guard will wake the computer and printer up at preset times, print out the test images and goes back to sleep.

Experts have been writing and weighing the pros and cons of generic ink versus OEM ink for at least the last 10-15 years. There is no denying that the best ink for your printer is OEM ink. The manufacturer had spent much money in developing the best ink for your printer model. Then again, it has been widely accepted that improvement in ink technology and reverse-engineering processes have allowed most generics to catch-up with OEM ink quality in the past decade. There may be situations when one computer may have two or more printers attached to it. In other cases, one printer may be shared by several computers. When you purchase a single license for the Printer Guard software, one designated printer (you choose which one when you activate the software for the first time) is hardware-locked to one computer and/or vice versa, your one computer will be hardware-locked to your one printer.
If you have an HP desktop computer at home connected to two printers (one Brother and another, an Epson), the HP computer will be hardware-locked to the Brother printer (if it’s your default printer/you will be able to select the printer of your choice during initial installation/activation of Printer Guard). You cannot use our Printer Guard software with your HP computer together with the Epson unless you buy another license. The usual scenario of printer usage is that most aren’t easily moveable or mobile. But if you have a mobile Canon inkjet printer, and it's used with say, your Acer laptop/notebook, then this Canon would be hardware-locked to your Acer. If you go back home and connect your Acer notebook to schedule your Brother or Epson home printer, it would not work; you will need a new/another license.
The current limitation of information technology only allows the computer to capture and store the Serial or ID Number of hard disks and thumb drives connected to it. Other connected equipment's unique Serial or ID Number cannot be captured by the computer. This equipment could be a Printer or a special Keyboard or Mouse or even a sound gadget (any gadget, for that matter!) you've created that you don't want to allow to be used on another computer other than the first computer it was attached to/bought for. We have developed the world-first hardware-lock that ties a particular equipment to a specific computer thereby allowing you have complete control of your unique product and payment for it.

No, you cannot transfer your purchased software to another person or entity. However, you may use it on/change up to three inkjet printers you own if there is a valid subscription. No two or more printers can use a single license at the same time as each connected printer you wish to use with our Printer Guard software needs a separate/new license. We may allow changing of printers at our discretion within a reasonable period of time as activation and control are on our servers. Frequent changes or switching back and forth of printers connected to the same computer may result in a ban of our software and you will not be entitled to a refund, if applicable during the guarantee period, or otherwise. If you need to connect a further fourth to sixth printer to the software, you will need to download/install another copy of the Printer Guard software.

When this happens, we will deactivate your old computer's hardware-lock license to your current printer. You would be unable to use the Printer Guard software with your old computer and your current printer immediately on activation of the new hardware-lock for your new computer and your current printer. If you own more than one printer, several things need to be highlighted. 1) If there is more than one inkjet printer connected to your computer (whether directly by USB or wirelessly over Wi-FI), you would be given the option, after installation, to choose which inkjet printer would run our anti-clog software. 2) Once selected this cannot be changed by you. If you want a different inkjet printer to run our software later, you've to drop us a support ticket. We will do the necessary change at our end. After the change, the old inkjet printer cannot be scheduled anymore. 3) Suppose you would like to run our software on two inkjet printers connected to the same computer, you would have to purchase two separate licenses. 4) The maximum number of inkjet printers that can run on the same connected computer on a copy of the Printer Guard software is limited to three; which in effect means buying three licenses. 5) It is not necessary to run our software on "laser printers" connected to your computer as they do not have fine nozzles that can clog up. So, don't waste your money!
Yes, you must have an active Internet connection without which, your inkjet printer cannot be validated. Also, periodically, our software will check with our servers to verify that the validated inkjet printer is connected to the right computer. If you're still not connected to the Internet within a certain time for "periodic validation", you'll be prompted by the software to make a connection urgently/immediately. If you still do not, your software may be deactivated after a certain number of days or times you've run it. Due to security reasons and the randomness of the validation cycles, we're unable to say how often we validate the software or the number of times you would be allowed use of the software (without periodic validation) before you may be locked-out or the software is disabled automatically. We urge you to connect to the Internet at least once every seven days to ensure smooth operation of the software.
Yes, you can at most software download websites where our software is listed. But we strongly recommend that you sign up as a "User" with a working email address so that we may keep you updated when there are any changes to our software. Also, you would need to be logged in to make any payments.
Our software DOES NOT support Windows XP SP1 and below. It supports Windows XP SP2 and above including Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 easily and smoothly. You also need to have Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 installed. If this is not found on your computer, you will be prompted to download and install it from Microsoft's website. This is a free download. You can also download it from here.
Printer Guard was designed to work with over 90% of computers in the world as Windows (Windows XP SP2 through to the current version of Windows 10) is the most prevalent and popular operating system for decades. AntiVirus and/or Malware Software, Microsoft Security Essentials and/or Windows Defender, Windows User Account Control, Windows SmartScreen, etc. may block the download and/or installation of our Printer Guard software. Please be assured that our software has been fully scanned for virus and malware and is totally safe for download and installation. Please click on "Keep" or "Allow" when you are prompted during the download. During installation, you may be prompted that the software/program is a ".exe" file and is unrecognized with the options "Don't run" and "More info". Please click on "More info" and then "Run anyway". Installation should proceed without a hitch.
This usually happens when there is a AntiVirus program installed, as described in the previous FAQ point. 1) The AntiVirus program usually stops you from accessing or opening our Printer Guard software, as generally, all ".exe" files are treated as a virus, by default. The AntiVirus program usually moves our Printer Guard ".exe" file into a Quarantine area. This Quarantine area can be easily accessed through your AntiVirus program's user interface. Once you access this area, you can click on our Printer Guard ".exe" file and "Restore" or "Allow" it to run. 2) Sometimes, the settings in your Antivirus program automatically deletes the ".exe" file and moves it to the "Recycle Bin". Go there and highlight our Printer Guard ".exe" file and click on "Restore the selected items". Installation should continue without a hitch.
We desire to see you “save money”. We designed Printer Guard with this initiative so that it will remain affordable for years to come. We did not develop an expensive product which you may not need in the future. For example, you may later want to switch to using a laser printer which would make our Printer Guard software unnecessary.

We hope to breakeven when enough customers buy our software. We are patient and will grow alongside with our customers!
We don’t even make money from the generic ink vendors; at least not yet, as we have no affiliate or reseller arrangements with any of them, as of now. This may change in future once we have established ourselves and have shortlisted the better vendors from the poor quality ones. The superior quality of the generic ink sold by reliable vendors will go a long way in keeping your printer running well for years to come, at a nominal cost. If we do enter into such an arrangement with generic ink vendors, it will help us to keep the cost of Printer Guard very affordable for as long as possible. We don’t want you to pay more than what’s really necessary.
If you are going to save money from generic ink usage, why would we sell you the Printer Guard software that would cost you a small fortune? What is the point of saving money on generic ink but paying us, the Printer Guard developers? Doesn’t make sense, does it? It’s like robbing Peter to pay Paul! Again, as always, stop wastage!

This 'Log In" link is also available in the downlink email you received from us. 3) Proceed to "Log In". If you've not registered an account, please do so now. 4) Once registration is successful, please proceed to "Log In". 5) At the Top Menu, click on "Download". 6) Click on the "My Orders" sub-menu. 7) Here, you will find your order displayed. 8) Click on the "Order Id No". 9) You will see a "Key" icon under the License column on the next page. 10) Click on it and the "License Key" will be displayed. 11) Copy and paste it under "License Key" in the "Validate Printer" tab in our software. 12) You're done and good to go!
